"Session" has been used since the since 1921, when it was, “The NY State Police School” .Members of other states, counties, and town/village police officers were trained. In 1961, 67th Session, it became the New York State Police Academy, held at various locations until 1967 when the present Academy was built. Session pictures take various formats. Hanging on the academy walls since about the 102nd Session. One might think that at the Academy there would be a file with all of the pictures and a neat list of the sessions with numbers. WRONG. Some were in boxes, several are missing, a lot of digging and donating by individuals. The Academy wall pictures were obtained by taking the pictures off the wall where possible. At a certain time of the day, a good location with natural light (to avoid as much as possible reflection) probed in a chair, and using a handheld camera. I wish they were better, some are missing, however made the best of the way it is. I had retired almost 20years before. I'm working on the 1980's & 1990's sessions - I hope it beings back memories. /TMP
