Session images from 1940 - 1959. The 19th Session of 1940 - to the 63rd of 1959 preceded the rapid growth of the 1960's. Long hours, low pay and barracks/sub station living was the standard. A 1942 paycheck, $55.94 a week take home! An approximate number trained during this period is 2200 Troopers and 272 other departments. The training was New York State Police training.
