NYSTH /Acronym for New York State Troopers History, is a volunteer project undertaken to preserve and organize historic material relative to the New York State Police for the benefit and enjoyment of past and present members and the internet public. It started in 2011 when Ted Palmer went to the SP Academy hoping to obtain pictures of the training classes, known as sessions. Long story short,  then Major Robin Benzinger offered an opportunity researching historical documents and photos as a volunteer to prepare for the 2017 Century Celebration. Many trips to the Academy and contact with other sources resulted in an intense, but fun hobby.

NYSTH will now be turned over to Michael Wells, also a retired Trooper. Mike is the Secretary of the CD CHapter and manages afnyst.org. He shares the Mission of nysth.com, to preserve NYST history by creating digital files compliant with common computer usage and share with all interested people.
Ironically: Mike's EOD is 1986, Ted's is 1962 - when MIke was born

This is an individual effort, privately funded, not an official NY State Police function.  A scanner and/or a camera is used to preserve a digital image.  Images are from the Academy and individual scrap books, photographs, and documents contributed individuals or family.. This is very evident in the "Collections" section , where the name of the source is used.  Other undiscovered material is welcomed.
