Four 1917 manuals are known to exist.. It is assumed that over 200 printed and issued, 232 being the number at Camp Newayo. Two are in the hands of private collectors and one at the State Police Academy in Albany. The fourth has been donated to the Onondaga County Historical Society. It was contained the private collection of Marilyn Wilson. She served for 40+ years in Troop "D", retiring as the Principal Clerk. She has gone on to managing the books at a higher location. The text of the manual was copied ( preserved) using a camera in natural light. This manual does not indicated an issue name, however appears used by pencil notes and a tobacco burn.
