Session images from 1940 - 1959.  The 19th Session of 1940 - to the 63rd of 1959 preceded the rapid growth of the 1960's.  Long hours, low pay and barracks/sub station living was the standard.  A 1942 paycheck, $55.94 a week  take home!  An approximate number trained during this period is 2200 Troopers and 272 other departments. The training was New York State Police training.  Members of other departments and states trained alongside Troopers.
